Schubert Quintet Featuring Dr. Daniel Saenz, cello
Five Sheep Four Goats
Traditional, arranged by Danish String Quartet
String Quintet in C Major, D. 956
The Westheimer String Quartet invites you to experience transcendence in its various forms!
The Danish String Quartet's "Five Sheep, Four Goats" from their Woodworks Collection gently transcends the boundaries of the traditional classical genre, made up of Nordic folk melodies presented in a very appealing and unassuming manner. Gareth Farr's Te Tai-O-Rehua brings the listener to picturesque New Zealand and captures its awe-inspiring nature (from tranquil to stormy) through music. Finally, Schubert's Quintet in C- his last instrumental work before his untimely death at the age of thirty-one- is a spiritual journey through all the stages and emotions of life, delivered through intimate melodies, moments of contemplation, and a boisterous finale.
